Big ideas often start small. Our Treat was born from the simple idea that we could make a small difference in the lives of those battling cancer, as well as those who love them most.
As the Long Island University softball team brainstormed around what charitable cause they would rally around for the 2019 season, Coach Roy encouraged them to think outside the box. He mentioned the early concept of Our Treat — the basic idea being that we can all make a difference to real families who spend each day focused on their loved one’s fight with cancer. The team loved the idea of supporting families steeped in this fight and spent that spring fundraising to support the project. Coach Roy simultaneously enlisted volunteers that could help make the vision a reality.
The Our Treat story has always centered on the understanding that a battle with cancer is not shouldered alone, and families in this fight don’t often have the opportunity to enjoy a stress free meal together. Our goal is to create that special time for families in the comfort of their homes, and we believe it’s a small step toward healing—and winning—in the fight with this disease.

Amidst the doctors visits, treatments and emotions that come with fighting this disease, family time and a sense of normalcy can be hard to come by. Yet, in so many ways, time spent with loved ones can be one of the most meaningful parts of the treatment and healing process. Our vision is a world where every family with a loved one battling cancer can have dinner together as a respite from their fight. It’s a fight we’re all in together, and with loved ones to lift our spirits, it’s one we can win.

MissionOur Treat’s mission is to support families with a loved one battling cancer by providing a meal to be enjoyed together in the comfort of their home. In a time of such hardship, we aim to eliminate stress for an evening, delivering a meal tailored to each family’s needs.
